Maintenance Manager
gpac is partnered with a confidential beverage manufacturer in the Sioux City, Iowa Metro looking to hire a Maintenance Manager.
The Maintenance Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, oversees the day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of the organization’s facilities, equipment, and machinery through planning, coordinating, and directing all maintenance activities to ensure machine reliability and minimize unexpected downtime.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to maintenance staff
- Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free.
- Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production
- Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
- Ensure that spare parts, components, and tools needed for maintenance are always available by ordering, forecasting, and monitoring material inventories.
- Establishing a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations
- Develop, implement, monitor, and optimize the organization’s maintenance management plan in accordance with its goals to improve uptime and minimize costs.
- Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Hire, train, and evaluate maintenance workers; monitor workers to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.
- Direct corrections (corrective action) of any maintenance or manufacturing problems that may arise; work with Compliance Manager in development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED; Bachelor degree preferred
- Experience in mechanical manufacturing and processing technology is required.
- At least 3 years working experience in industrial plant is required.
- At least 2 years’ experience in staff management and development is required.
- At least 2 years supervisory experience in a process manufacturing environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer skills: including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
- Must be able to read, speak, and write in English to be able to communicate with employees.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm; extended days and hours as needed.
