Cadon Plating & Coatings utilizes state-of-the-art processes to coat and protect steel fasteners and steel parts with advanced corrosion resistant finishes used in industrial and automotive applications. Cadon processes parts to meet hundreds of different specifications including zinc electroplating and chromating, zinc/nickel plating, mechanical plating of zinc & tin, phosphating, and dip-spin applied paints. Located in Wyandotte, Michigan, Cadon is seeking an Industrial/Maintenance Technician Level 3 to add to their team. Responsibilities include:
- Develops and utilizes maintenance standard operating procedures based on specific machine knowledge and manufacturer's recommendations
- Troubleshoots faulty machinery and equipment and diagnoses the root cause of the malfunction using diagnostic tools and problem-solving abilities
- Performs mechanical repairs using hand and power tools
- Collaborates with others to solve complex mechanical issues
- Utilizes preventive maintenance processes to avert machine failures and reduce downtime
- Communicates status of repairs and/or delays to employees, supervisors and managers
- Works independently without constant supervision yet assists others with issues that require technical expertise and knowledge; may assist with training others
- Keeps required records of all machine maintenance and repairs
Qualification requirements:
- At least 3 years' experience in a maintenance or technical role in manufacturing
- Highly proficient with:
- Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Compressors
- Plumbing including valves, pressure regulators, gages, etc.
- Programmable controllers
- Experienced in using and able to set up and operate:
- Lathes, grinders, drills, milling machines, jigs
- Able to fabricate and repair equipment and workstations using:
- Welding equipment
- Cutting torches
- Other appropriate tools
- Able to install and repair:
- Electrical transformers
- Wiring
- Electrical and electronic components
- Experienced using forklifts; able to diagnose issues with forklifts
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the plumbing and electrical layout of the plant
Other required skills include:
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and written
- Excellent skills in mathematics
- Dependable and responsible
- Able to take direction and give feedback and/or direction when appropriate
- Able to work independently and as a team
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, push, pull and lift during the entire shift
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
