Job Description
Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to promote optimum imaging procedures. Provides imaging services as defined by Title 17 (Radiologic Health Branch) and Title 22 (Department of Health Services) for the State of California. Applying the principles in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and modifying patient imaging care as an active, continuous process.

Job Specific Competencies
Performs screening procedures on all patients, visitor, vendors and other staff when entering zones III and IV to include the double identification of all patients
Promotes and supports all MRI safety initiatives
Follows safety procedures and guidelines and reports unsafe practices and conditions
Explains the MRI process to the patient in a way that is informative but also reassuring
Positions, transfers and properly immobilizes patients as required
Prepares patients for and administers IV injections for contrast materials
Performs MRI scanning procedures to include instructing patients and selecting techniques
Performs scanning, reconstruction of proper images, and post processing
Preforms QA on all images prior to ending the exam and sending images to PACS
Accurately completes documentation according to hospital and department guidelines, e.g., EHR documentation of exam performed, rationale for exam, tech notes, consent forms, etc.
Preforms quality control on the MRI units and other equipment as required
Evaluates personnel and department work volume and flow to insure efficient departmental patient care. Prioritized work according to urgency and resources.
Consistently and appropriately follows Universal Precautions
Keeps updated on MRI developments through professional journals, on the job training and other educational opportunities
Maintains clinical competency assuming reasonability for continuing education and on-going modality
Assists in performing first aid, CPR and AED
Participates in peer competencies
Participates in the training and onboarding of new team members
Reports equipment issues to clinical engineering and vendor service engineer
Is aware of and works within hospital and department safety guidelines, including reporting potential hazards and hazardous behavior
Uses appropriate body mechanics and lifting devices as needed
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiology, ARRT (R) or ARMRIT and upon hire or within 4 months of hire, registered in MRI, ARRT (MR)
Must clear MRI safety screening to safely work in Zone IV.
Preferred: Siemens equipment experience

Salary Range:
$63.75 - $79.34 USD Hourly
