Position Title: MIG Welder
Wage: $20-$23/hour
Shift: 2nd
Hours: 4pm-2:30am Monday-Thursday, alternating Fridays 5am-1:30pm
QPS Employment Group is hiring a MIG Welder for a company in South Beloit, IL. This is a contract to hire opportunity.
MIG Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform MIG welding operations to assemble metal components and structures
- Ensure welds are of high quality, meet specifications, and pass visual and functional inspections
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and specifications
- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and positioning parts
- Ensure proper alignment and fit-up of components before welding
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure equipment is in good working condition
- Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Identify and address any defects or inconsistencies
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper ventilation in the welding area
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including welding logs, inspection reports, and material usage
MIG Welder Requirements:
- GED, High school diploma, or equivalent welding experience
- 1-year of MIG, TIG, STICK welding experience
- Welding Certificate or Tech college preferred
- Basic proficiency in MIG welding techniques and equipment operation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Basic knowledge of safety practices and procedures in a welding environment
