Shift:
1 Day Material Handler M-TH 7am -7pm
1 Night Material Handler M-TH 7pm-7am
Responsibilities:PURPOSE:
By means of pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other means, the Production Material Handler is responsible for the movement of product in connection with receiving, storing, staging, and distribution functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes a strong safety culture and help provide oversight of safe work practices.
- Sets a positive example for employees by actively participating in completion of daily work and promoting company policies, procedures and goals.
- Proactively participates in a company “team” approach; and effectively communicates operational needs and priorities with internal team members.
- Follows procedures and JSA’s- insertion of corrugated material, obtains needed packaging supplies, grinding scrap bottles/tails.
- In charge of maintain consumables and packing materials for the coating material.
- Reads schedules, pick list, packing list, and, or, material requisitions to determine items to be move, gathered, distributed, staged, and, or, loaded.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage and, or, designated areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Pick products for coating according to the department schedule in a timely fashion
- Assist with inventory
- Complete required documentation
- Cycle count as required daily inventory, accurate record keepng in designated location.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to work safely and follow safety rules.
- Must be able to identify and report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
- Must be able to wear protective clothing as uniform, rubber-soled shoes, gloves, long-sleeved shirt, and earplugs.
- Must be able to follow all department procedures and directives.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English directions/instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Able to work overtime.
- Required to lift boxes weighting up to 35 lbs.
- Demonstrate computer knowledge in DcLink and JDE.
- Forklift driving is required a minimum of 4 hours per day. The individual must pass Berry’s Forklift Training Course.
Compensation: $21/hr. 10% night differential
