Job Description:
As a Low Voltage Service Technician specializing in structured cabling and security, you will play a crucial role in our team. Responsibilities include:
Structured Cabling:
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing cable infrastructure in new construction commercial environments, such as Hospitals, Data Centers, Airports, and Commercial Retail facilities.
- Conducting maintenance on existing cabling systems and tenant improvement projects.
- Testing newly installed or relocated cables in compliance with company specifications.
- Identifying and eliminating redundant cabling.
- Installing wireless access routers, patch panels, and various internet technology devices.
- Learning and executing troubleshooting procedures in accordance with company standards.
- Installing cable support structures, including j-hooks, cable racks, and inner-duct.
- Repairing cable termination and cable runs.
- Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled in adherence to safety regulations.
- Completing necessary paperwork, including timesheets and checklists.
Security Services:
- Implementing and maintaining access control systems for enhanced security.
- Installing and configuring security technology devices, including surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
- Troubleshooting security-related issues and ensuring seamless operation.
- Collaborating with clients to design and customize security solutions tailored to their needs.
- Integrating security systems with structured cabling to provide comprehensive solutions.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations in all security-related work.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in installing and troubleshooting low voltage systems, with a preference for greater technical expertise.
- Proficiency in fiber splicing and troubleshooting existing fiber plants.
- Installation of overhead cable supports, J-Hooks, and cable running lines properly aligned with cable trays.
- Termination experience with Category 5, 5E, 6, 6a, fiber strands over 100, and copper.
- Proficiency in finish work, including the installation of faceplates and device labeling.
- Experience with anaerobic (2-part epoxy) terminations.
- Proficiency with Fluke OTDR and Fluke Power meter.
- Experience in medium-level fiber network troubleshooting.
- Background in new commercial construction, tenant improvements, and remodels.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications.
Requirements:
- Conduct structured cabling, security/access control, and related cable system installations for large commercial projects.
- Maintain a professional appearance and exhibit a positive and respectful attitude.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year of professional experience; willing to train the right candidate.
- Possess a valid driver's license, valid car insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a company-standard drug screen and background check.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- Available for 40+ hours per week.
