About the Job
Exceptional mid-size law firm has an immediate need for a Litigation Secretary / Paralegal to join their growing Century City office. The Litigation Secretary / Paralegal must have their Paralegal Certificate and at least 5 years of civil litigation defense experience in a mid-size firm or larger.
Litigation Secretary/Paralegal duties include:
- E-filing in state and federal courts
- Drafting subpoenas, pleadings and other basic legal documents
- Propounding and responding to discovery
- Cite checking briefs
- Preparing binders and exhibits
- Calendaring deadlines and hearings
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of civil litigation defense experience in a mid-size or large firm
- Proficiency with state and federal e-filing required; appellate experience is a plus
- Paralegal Certificate or BPC 6450 compliant Declaration required
- Experience in Commercial Litigation, Insurance Defense, Medical Malpractice, or Labor & Employment is strongly preferred
- Trial experience is a plus
Firm offers comprehensive benefits and a hybrid work schedules.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. Targeted range of $85,000 - $105,000 annually.
