We are looking to add an experienced Litigation Paralegal specializing in Family Law, to support our legal team in our Pittsburgh, PA office. You will have a strong understanding of family law procedures and a keen attention to detail, ensuring that all legal documentation is accurate and timely. If you have 3+ years of experience as a paralegal focused on Family Law, we want to talk to you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing for court/trial proceedings and preparation
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Manage case and document filing in compliance with legal standards
- Conduct legal research
- Assist in the discovery process, including the organization and review of documents
- Coordinate and schedule depositions and client meetings
- Review billing statements and ensure accuracy in billing practices
- Perform redlining of documents to track changes and ensure compliance with legal standards
- Utilize ProLaw and NetDocs for case management and document organization
- Edit legal documents for clarity, grammar, and formatting
- 3+ years experience in litigation- family law preferred
- Paralegal certificate is REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge of family law issues, including divorce, child custody, guardianship, pre/post nuptial agreements, spousal/child support, adoption, abuse protection, and equitable distribution.
- Proficiency in ProLaw and NetDocs is a plus!
- Excellent drafting and editing skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Experience working in a mid-sized or large law firm is strongly preferred
