We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys by managing case files, conducting research, and assisting with trial preparation. If you are passionate about the legal field and have a keen interest in insurance defense litigation, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through trial and appeal. Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are filed and up to date.
Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on various issues relevant to insurance defense cases. Summarize findings and prepare reports for attorney review.
Drafting Documents: Prepare and file legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, responses, and trial exhibits. Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
Discovery Support: Assist in the discovery process by managing document production, preparing discovery responses, and organizing evidence for use in court.
Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, witnesses, and experts. Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, and trial dates.
Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trial by organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating logistics.
Billing and Timekeeping: Maintain accurate records of billable hours and assist with the preparation of invoices as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Paralegal certificate preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation or related field.
Strong understanding of civil litigation processes and procedures.
Proficient in legal research tools and software (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
