Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Manage litigation claims, assess coverage, and prepare reservations of rights letters.
- Perform comprehensive investigations, collect necessary documentation, and keep well-organized files.
- Develop strategies with defense counsel and experts, handle litigation, and manage declaratory judgment actions.
- Work with vendors to control costs and maintain high service standards.
- Analyze and interpret case law, statutes, and coverage forms for precise claim resolution.
- Determine the need for expert witnesses and field investigators.
- Ensure all claim activities are documented in accordance with regulations and policies.
- Create and present claim evaluations to obtain settlement authority.
- Set and maintain appropriate indemnity and expense reserves.
- Conduct onsite evaluations of defense counsel as directed.
- Comply with Department of Insurance regulations relevant to the loss state.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years in the claims handling space
- Demonstrated experience in managing litigated and complex injury claims.
- In-depth knowledge of non-standard auto liability claims.
- Strong investigative skills with the ability to secure essential documents and information.
- Proficiency in litigation management and strategic collaboration with defense counsel and experts.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to analyze and interpret case law, statutes, and coverage forms effectively.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Understanding of Department of Insurance regulations and adherence to compliance.
- Competence in managing expenses while upholding service quality.
- Flexibility to undertake additional duties as required.
