Our firm is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join our team at Aleshire & Wynder, LLP. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid to senior-level associate attorney with eight (8) years of experience in litigation including preparing cases for trial, with strong skills in discovery, court appearances, and depositions. This position offers the opportunity to handle complex and challenging cases, representing government entities in a variety of legal matters that significantly impact the communities we serve.
What does a litigation attorney do?
As an integral member of our Civil Litigation practice, you will work alongside experienced partners, in a collaborative and dynamic work environment to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients. You will handle a wide range of cases in multiple practice areas, including contract disputes, personal injury claims, employment matters, constitutional issues, environmental claims, housing issues, and many more. You will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and representing clients in court. To excel in the role of a Litigation Attorney at Aleshire & Wynder, LLP, the following skills and qualifications are necessary:
- Extensive Legal Research and Drafting: The candidate should have solid writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents. The successful candidate should have experience analyzing, researching, and drafting briefs addressing sophisticated legal issues on complex litigation. This includes dispositive motions. Writ and appellate experience a plus.
- Trial Preparation: Must possess trial preparation experience, including the ability to develop case strategies, interview witnesses, and gather evidence. Familiarity with courtroom procedures and the ability to effectively present a case is essential.
- Case Management: Strong case management skills are needed to handle multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met, and documentation is organized. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks are crucial. Comfortable working independently and with a team
- Active CA State Bar Membership: Must be in good standing with the CA State Bar and possess an active license to practice law in California.
- Strong Communication Skills: Experience in the courtroom and taking depositions.

Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member of the California State Bar, in good standing.
- Six to eight years of civil litigation experience.
- Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures, including experience in the courtroom, depositions, propounding and responding to written discovery, preparing dispositive motions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, meticulous and self-reliant with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working alone and within a team.
- Ability to analyze, prioritize, delegate
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- Proven record of excellent internal and external leadership skills

Salary base: $155k per year, depending on experience
