About the Job
AP Professionals is partnering with a local software company that has been in business for decades and is in search of a Linux Administrator. The Linux Administrator will assist clients with troubleshooting their software, performing major projects, and working within server and application maintenance. Work with a dedicated team and help resolve new and exciting problems. Someone with a fantastic customer service demeanor and finds themselves to be articulate, concise, and well-spoken would do well in this role. Experience within Linux required!
This position is a direct hire, full-time role that is comfortable with someone working fully remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and upgrade enterprise-grade software solutions for clients. Deliver technical support to clients.
- Oversee installations, upgrades, and project tasks, providing regular status updates.
- Work on server and application maintenance on CentOS Linux servers in command line environment
- Install and maintain additional modules in Windows server, and ensure connectivity between Windows servers and main Linux environment
- Create scripts in bash to manage automation of various features in application, such as reporting
- Record and update all pertinent information in company’s CRM system.
- Work closely with colleagues, clients, partners, sales teams, IT departments, software engineers, project leaders, and product managers.
- Perform major projects such as setting up Single-Sign On and LDAP/LDAPS login workflows and migrating the Company application to new servers in order to update the OS of servers.
- Work within the database in order to run queries to find and change data in customer systems, and additional integrate 3rd party supported softwares with the application.
- Perform other various tasks such as generating CSRs for customers and updating apache web engine with the generated SSL certificate, and working with IT teams to configure the customer's network to allow communication between the application.
- A technology-related degree is highly preferred, with advanced degrees considered a plus.
- Relevant certifications in areas such as security, networking, project management, or operating systems a plus.

Experience
- 2-5+ years of relevant experience is required.
- Proficient in Linux/Unix command-line operations.
- Familiarity with SSH, LDAP/AD, and Single Sign-On protocols preferred.
- Knowledge of Linux shell scripting is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in resolving technical challenges.
- Customer service experience in a technical support environment.
- Background in firewall and network troubleshooting is a plus!
- Experience managing and documenting long-term technology projects preferred.
