LINE COOK
Prepare line according to Kitchen Manager. Preps and cooks products assigned to his/her station
Job Tasks
1. Prepares meats, seafood, vegetables and other items required for line
and catering.
- Carefully follows standard recipes when prepping and preparing all items.
- Uses food prep equipment according to manufacturers instructions
- Keeps work station clean at all times
- Returns unused food to proper storage areas
- Assists with preparation of other food products on serving line as needed
- Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices
- Returns soiled food prep utensils and other smallwares to proper areas
- Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portioning sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls, cooking equipment and refrigeration
- Closes the kitchen properly
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
- Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager
Informs Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages
Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Supervises: No supervisory duties
Qualifications:
· Preferably 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and
cooking but will train those serious about cooking
· Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen personnel
and service staff
· Ability to bend, reach, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
· Ability to work in a standing position for long periods
· Good organizational skills
· Good understanding of basic math skills
