IYA Sushi & Noodle Kitchen is looking for a Line Cook who is experienced in preparing a wide range of dishes, and someone who has experience with or an interest in Asian cuisines. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, has a background in food prep, and is capable of executing high quality food in a fast-paced atmosphere with small amounts of supervision. We are looking for someone reliable, who enjoys working with a close-knit team, and who takes pride in producing an incredible product.
Located in the South Hadley Village Commons, we are a trendy, contemporary Asian restaurant that has something for everyone. A sushi lovers paradise mixed with Asian favorites including ramen, hibachi, tempura and Korean BBQ.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTAURANT LINE COOK
As a Restaurant Line Cook, you are essential in our kitchen. You help produce our amazing food and deliver a positive customer experience each day. Your day in the kitchen includes food prep by measuring, cutting, mixing, chopping, and preparing foods and sauces. Additionally, you grill, sauté, and broil foods according to quality guidelines and standardized recipes. With great attention to detail, you adjust the thermostat controls to regulate the temperature of all equipment. You test the food as it's being prepared by tasting, smelling, and piercing it with a fork to determine that it is thoroughly cooked. Once the food is ready, you portion it onto serving plates and add any gravies, sauces, or garnishes.
You work in a manner consistent with our mission statement and core values. You love being able to create delicious Asian inspired dishes and more. With your passion for food and your sense of urgency, you create delectable dishes in an efficient manner. You bring that passion with you as you train new employees to the position as well. Being able to create smiles through your culinary creations and appetizing presentations is your favorite part of the job!
QUALIFICATIONS
Passion for food
A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a keen willingness to learn
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time
Two years experience preferred, but we will train the right restaurant candidate who shows a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
WORK SCHEDULE
This part-time or full-time position includes day and evening shifts as well as weekend shifts.
