If you want to make in difference in someone else's life and enjoy taking care of the elderly, please apply.As a Cook you will prepare and cook delicious food for our residents here at Care Cardinal.  The ideal candidate will be willing to work either 1st or 2nd Shift hours.  The starting pay rate for this position is $17 to $19 per hour, depending on experience. This is a full-time position.Essential Functions:

• Prepare tasteful, nutritionally balanced meals on pre-planned menus
• Prepare meals with consideration of resident’s preferences and food safety standards.
• Ensuring resident special diet are offered and prepared, recognizing, a resident right to choose.
• Complete dining room service, including set up, service and clean up with high hospitality standards
• Assist with inventory and maintain supplies in all common area kitchenettes
• Follow the sanitation schedule for the kitchen, equipment, and dining room to maintain standards of sanitation and cleanliness
• Serve as a backup to the Chef for ordering adequate supplies weekly based menu, budget, current inventory and storage capabilities
• Promote positive relationships with the residents, staff, and visitors

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent
• Culinary arts courses (preferred)
• 1-2 years’ experience with cooking/baking in a commercial setting or a combination of education and work experience.
• Ability to read and prepare menus and recipes
• Working knowledge of rules and regulations to health and safety in food preparation
• Must have skills necessary to prepare dishes for special diets
