Job Description:
The line cook supports the Executive Chef by preparing food to the restaurant’s specifications. They are responsible for assisting the executive chef and sous chef with their daily tasks. They will work in a high volume and fine dining environment.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Set up and stocking stations with necessary supplies.
- Prepare food for service.
- Follow and report executive and sous chef instructions.
- Maintain an organized and clean working space.
- Stock inventory.
- Provide excellent customer service and strong communication.
- Work in a fast-paced, professional environment as part of the team as well as independently.
- Possess a sense of urgency and neat appearance.
- Ensure great service and high-quality food.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain proper sanitation and food safety standards.
- Keep up with cooking trends and best practices.
- Ability to spot problems and resolve them quickly and efficiently.
- Follow company policies and procedures and comply with all state and federal regulations.
· Comply with nutritional and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Self-driven, proactive, and punctual.
- 2+ years experience managing in a high-volume upscale restaurant.
- Ability to maintain professional demeaner and communication.
- Ability to maintain proper uniform and professional presentation.
- Safeguard the team by maintaining a healthy and safe workplace, environment, and culture.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
