Light Industrial Forklift Driver - Spherion

As a Light Industrial Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move materials and products within warehouse or production environments. This role is crucial to the efficient operation of the workplace, requiring attention to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials, ensuring the safety of yourself and your coworkers.
Accurately pick and pack products as required for shipping or storage.
Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and order fulfillment.
Perform routine safety checks on equipment before use.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and industry regulations.

Working hours: Various Shifts Available

Skills:
Basic Mechanical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of forklift maintenance, such as checking fluids and performing minor repairs.

Customer Service Orientation:
For positions that may interact with clients or external partners, excellent communication skills to provide customer support.

Knowledge of Shipping & Receiving Procedures:
Experience with preparing items for shipment, verifying packing lists, and ensuring correct labeling.

First Aid or Safety Training:
Certification or training in first aid, CPR, or other safety programs to enhance the workplace's overall safety culture.

Ability to Operate Multiple Types of Machinery:
Experience with additional equipment such as palletizers, conveyors, or industrial scanners to support broader warehouse operations.

Physical Stamina and Fitness:
Ability to engage in physical tasks outside of forklift operation, such as lifting, bending, or moving materials manually.

Multitasking:
Capability to handle multiple tasks or prioritize duties in a high-pressure environment.

Experience with E-commerce Fulfillment Systems:
Exposure to e-commerce or retail warehouse operations, especially in fast-paced settings.

Forklift Certification Upgrades:
Willingness to pursue additional forklift certifications, such as for specialized equipment or advanced training in material handling.

High School

1-4 years

Qualifications:
Advanced Forklift Operation:
Experience with different types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, clamp truck, electric pallet jacks) is highly desirable.

Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Proficiency:
Familiarity with inventory control software and systems to track and manage stock levels.

Strong Safety Awareness:
Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines, and ability to identify and mitigate hazards in the work environment.

Material Handling:
Expertise in handling fragile or high-value materials, including proper loading/unloading techniques and care in handling sensitive products.

Inventory Control & Stock Rotation:
Ability to assist with stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and maintain accurate inventory counts.

Problem-Solving:
Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and address logistical challenges quickly and efficiently.

Team Collaboration:
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-demand environment.

Attention to Detail:
Ensuring high accuracy in tasks such as picking and packing, order fulfillment, and inventory management.
