Summary:

Vighter is seeking to hire multiple Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) to provide social services, counseling, mental health and/or behavioral health support to patients within the Customs and Border Protection – Immigration and Customs Enforcement mission, with dozens of locations across the United States’ Southern borders, to include California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Florida. The LCSWs will provide comprehensive behavioral health services, including counseling, crisis intervention, and case management, within a multidisciplinary team. This position requires strong clinical skills, cultural competence, and a commitment to serving diverse populations in a challenging and dynamic environment.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Conduct mental health assessments and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals, including trauma-informed care.
• Offer crisis intervention and stabilization services for individuals experiencing acute psychological distress.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with medical and other professionals.
• Provide consultation and support to CBP personnel regarding mental health best practices and stress management.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and wellness programs aimed at addressing common behavioral health concerns.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations regarding patient confidentiality and ethical standards of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies.
• Serve as a liaison to community resources, including mental health clinics, housing, and social service agencies.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in working with culturally diverse populations and addressing the unique challenges faced by CBP communities.
• Functional proficiency and ability to document patient-centered health care in the required electronic health record or electronic medical record, in the required format, in a timely manner, and in compliance with contract policy and guidance.

• Knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act) regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
• Provide training and support to remote employees on timekeeping systems and processes, including troubleshooting issues and providing guidance on using timekeeping tools effectively.
• Stay informed about changes in timekeeping technology, regulations, and best practices, and make recommendations for updates and improvements to timekeeping processes.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Must have exceptional customer service skills.
• Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements, including ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.

Education:

• Candidate must have successfully completed a Master of Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in trauma-informed care or crisis intervention.
• Strong knowledge of federal regulations, including HIPAA and standards for working with underserved or asylum populations.
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.

Duty Hours / On-call Requirements:

• Generally speaking, locations supporting the CBP-ICE mission set are open and active 24/7/365, to include days, nights, weekends and all holidays.

Travel:

• As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Generally, this is a regional assignment that requires working from a “home base” (not “work from home”) and traveling to numerous CBP locations within the assigned region. Commute is non-compensatory. All official travel is government-funded.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day.
• Must be willing to work overtime if necessary.
• Must be able, with advance notice, to provide services within the regional footprint covering multiple locations within a given sector.
• Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet.
• Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
• Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print.
• Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
• Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
• Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS).
• Positions require applicants to be US Citizens, 21 years or older. 
• Must complete criminal background check, and Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) background check.
