Job Description: National defense firm seeks an experienced Litigation Secretary to join their team. The ideal candidate comes from a minimum of 3+ years of defense experience (insurance defense preferred), has supported between 2-4 attorneys managing caseload, calendar, and appointments, efiling in state and federal level, and generating TOCs/TOAs.
Legal Secretary Job Duties:
- Directly support 1 attorney in managing caseload, document preparation, and more
- Handle the calendar of appointments and schedule conferences, depositions, meetings
- Prepare legal filings for state and federal court
- Draft, edit, proofread, and format various documents including correspondence, pleadings, etc.
- Open and close new matters via electronic database
- Assist calendar clerk with calendaring internal and court deadlines
- Generate Table of Contents and Table of Authorities (TOCs, TOAs) and compile exhibits for trial preparation
- Assist accounting team with managing bills for third party vendors, including cover letters, as needed
Legal Secretary Job Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary in Defense Litigation, Insurance Defense preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
