This role involves performing a range of advanced secretarial tasks, including preparing legal documents and correspondence, maintaining close communication with attorneys, paralegals, and clients, and upholding confidentiality in all matters.

A litigation secretary will manage complex document filings, support trial preparations, and must possess a solid understanding of court protocols and procedures, including tracking court dates, handling pleadings, and ensuring filing compliance.

Key Responsibilitiesas a Legal Secretary (Litigation)

• Draft client correspondence and prepare initial pleadings with minimal oversight.
• Perform diverse clerical tasks requiring familiarity with legal procedures and terminology.
• Maintain attorney schedules, coordinate travel, and process incoming communications.
• Exercise discretion and sound judgment in client interactions.
• Enter attorney time records, prepare expense reports, and organize meetings.
• Recommend procedural improvements as necessary.
• Provide team support, administrative assistance, and handle overflow tasks as needed.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, e-filing systems, and court protocols.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of court protocols and filing requirements.
• Minimum of seven years of litigation experience in a law firm.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
