Job Details
Our esteemed law firm is seeking a dynamic, highly skilled Litigation Legal Secretary to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional with a background in litigation and a strong understanding of the legal industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Product Liability, Insurance Defense, Premises Liability, Professional Liability, Civil Defense, and Labor and Employment. The position offers a hybrid schedule and firm-paid benefits, making it an attractive opportunity for those seeking a balance between work and personal life.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive secretarial support to a team of attorneys, managing all aspects of civil litigation processes.
2. Draft, proofread, and edit various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and subpoenas.
3. Coordinate and manage the calendar of attorneys, scheduling meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
4. Conduct legal research and prepare case materials, ensuring all relevant information is available for attorneys.
5. Maintain a well-organized filing system that allows easy access to necessary documents.
6. Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials, providing excellent customer service.
7. Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
8. Assist in the preparation of case strategies and legal arguments, contributing to case development.
9. Manage billing and expense processes, ensuring all billables are accurately recorded and processed.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, with a focus on litigation.
2. Proficient in Product Liability, Insurance Defense, Premises Liability, Professional Liability, Civil Defense, and Labor and Employment.
3. Exceptional knowledge of civil litigation processes and legal terminology.
4. Proven ability to draft and edit legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court officials.
7. Proficient in legal research, with the ability to compile and analyze case-related information.
8. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal management software.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
10. Paralegal certification or equivalent is a plus.
