Job Details
Are you a seasoned legal professional with a passion for the law and an eye for detail? We are currently on the lookout for a highly motivated and experienced Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on a variety of complex commercial matters in the financial services, intellectual property, and land use & zoning sectors.
As a Legal Assistant, you will play an integral role in our team, with responsibilities including but not limited to:
1. Assisting with the preparation and management of cases in both state and federal courts.
2. Performing a wide range of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the office.
3. Calendaring and managing all case-related dates and deadlines.
4. Document management, including creating, updating, and maintaining all legal documents.
5. Coordinating hearings and depositions, ensuring all necessary parties are informed and prepared.
6. Preparing binders and other materials for court appearances and meetings.
7. Conducting legal research utilizing tools such as Westlaw.
8. Liaising with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals in a professional and courteous manner.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role should meet the following requirements:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in the financial services, intellectual property, or land use & zoning sectors.
2. Proficiency in managing complex commercial matters.
3. Familiarity with state and federal court systems.
4. Excellent administrative skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
5. Proficiency in legal calendaring and document management.
6. Experience in coordinating hearings and depositions.
7. Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Bilingualism is a plus.
