Position Summary: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant specializing in litigation to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to attorneys, ensuring the smooth operation of all litigation activities. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and a strong understanding of legal procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and court officials to schedule meetings and hearings.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information as required.
- Maintain and update litigation databases and tracking systems.
- Prepare and process billing and invoices related to client matters.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Legal Studies or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a litigation setting.
- Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with legal terminology and principles.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
