ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Temporary Contract Legal Assistant to assist on a limited project.
This role will support the legal team in reviewing the company's active matters to compile relevant party data to identify clients and adverse parties in preparation of integration into an InTapp risk assessment database. This individual should have a strong working knowledge of general litigation, including a solid understanding of whether a party is considered a client, adverse, or a third party for purposes of evaluating potential conflicts of interest.
Responsibilities:
- Review company matter data and check against conflict clearance data
- Populate a matter template with relevant client and adverse parties identified in the company matter and conflict clearance data in a designated format for database importation
Requirements:
- Experience as a legal secretary/assistant or paralegal in a law firm or similar environment
- Practical knowledge of legal terminology, legal parties, and conflicts of interest principles
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent data entry skills with high level of accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills, with demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions
- Ability to apply critical thinking in evaluating whether a party is considered a client or adverse for the purpose of determining conflicts of interests
