This position will serve as instructor of record for the three-credit hour, first year engineering design course, ENGR 1200: Fundamentals of Engineering Design Innovation. Experience teaching project-based and/or team-based courses is preferred. This position is a temporary, non-tenure track position paid on a per-course basis. Assignments are dependent upon student enrollments and are paid on a per course basis. There are no travel and relocation expenses available.
Lecturer
What you will do:
+ Coordinate with other instructors to create a student experience that has similar flow and learning objectives over the course of the semester
+ Create student teams based upon a provided system of personality and competency evaluations
+ Manage student teamwork across design sprints
+ Provide feedback on the prototyping process to the teams as they work through their projects
+ Grade intermediate "check ins" and final projects
Faculty Skills required
+ Familiarity with the Design Innovations materials, including the DI Handbook, Design Method Cards, and Prototyping Canvas. This familiarity can be gained alongside teaching the course, keeping a bit ahead of the students.
+ Experience using design processes in execution of a product or service
+ Willingness to be flexible about the terminology used (adapting to the 4 Ds of Design Innovation).
+ Ability to bring energy and a spirit of playfulness to the course.
+ An ability to coordinate learning activities within the LMS (Canvas) and other tools.
+ A strong ability to guide students through the design process and be prescriptive with feedback based on their projects and needs.
+ Because the course is team-based, must be able to facilitate team discussions and interventions to promote team alignment and address issues.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Doctorate in engineering or terminal degree in a design field or bachelor's degree with extensive applicable experience.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $5677 per 3-credit hour course .
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
