We are seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Lead Structural Engineer to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and innovative projects. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the design, development, and implementation of high-quality structural systems that meet our clients' needs and comply with national and international standards.
Responsibilities:
As a Lead Structural Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Leading a team of structural engineers and technicians in the design, development, and implementation of various structural systems.
2. Applying knowledge of national design codes, AISC, ASCE, and welding in the design and development of structural systems.
3. Reviewing and approving structural designs and calculations prepared by team members.
4. Coordinating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
5. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
6. Ensuring that all designs and developments comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
7. Conducting site inspections and structural assessments as required.
8. Preparing and presenting technical reports and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
9. Continually improving and updating knowledge and skills in line with industry developments.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Lead Structural Engineer position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in structural engineering, with a focus on the manufacturing industry.
3. Extensive knowledge and experience with national design codes, AISC, ASCE, and welding.
4. Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians.
5. Strong technical skills, with the ability to design and develop complex structural systems.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to clients and stakeholders.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design and development issues.
8. A commitment to continuous learning and development, with the ability to stay updated with industry developments and trends.
9. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed for site inspections and meetings.
