Lead Product Designer (eCommerce)
Location: 100% Remote
Pay Rate: Up to $75/hour depending on experience
Duration: ~12 Months; 40 hours a week
Our client, an established Retailer, is looking for a Lead Product Designer for a 6 month, 40 hour a week role. This could get extended for the right fit. The ideal Lead Product Designer excels in design thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and possesses a firm understanding of industry best practices in native mobile and mobile-first web experiences. They are organized, self-driven, and invested in mentoring and guiding the junior designers on their product teams. Previous experience in eCommerce / working in a Lead Product Designer capacity is a huge plus!
Lead Product Designer Responsibilities:
- Develop experience maps, user scenarios, comps and flows.
- Design low-fidelity to high-fidelity sketches and and rapid prototypes to validate the design concepts.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal teams and cross-functional teams that span from engineering to product.
- Clearly give direction on design principles, best practices, and design specifications.
- Walk team members and partners through scopes of work, technical challenges, and bring thoughtful points of view to the design.
- Lead meetings and brainstorming sessions with team members and stakeholders.
- Develop processes and approaches that solve the business requirements.
- Work with Project Owners and Business Analysts to build and maintain a product backlog through Agile methodology.
- Be a practice leader and help other designers ensure the quality and standards are met.
- Act as a resource, mentor, and role model for junior team members.
- Take on responsibility for the team's ability to deliver work on time.
Lead Product Designer Required Skills:
- 8+ years hands-on designing product experiences or general UX design.
- A portfolio showcasing well thought out product design case studies and work.
- Previous experience working on a cross-functional product team in an Agile environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experts in navigating and leveraging a heavily cross-functional environment.
- 1+ years mentoring other designers or leading a small team.
