We are hiring a Lead Mechanic to be responsible for, but not limited to, regular maintenance and repairs to fleet vehicles, hydraulic equipment, drilling rigs, and various apparatuses. Managing the shop with limited supervision.

What you will do:
- Perform repair and maintenance on all fleet and equipment
- Service fleet vehicles per company maintenance schedules and/or driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs, adjustment or replacements
- Inspect, lubricate, and service vehicles and equipment
- Install, adjust, and repair equipment and vehicles as needed
- Perform system checks and troubleshooting using proper diagnostic tools
- Check, fill and/or change appropriate fluids for all vehicle parts and check/change filters
- Inspect, repair and/or overhaul vehicle support systems, such as electrical, air, and brake systems
- Perform roadside repairs and adjustments
- Order supplies, parts, contact vendors, maintain a clean/organized work environment and equipment.
- May assign tasks to general laborers who occasionally work in the shop when not in the field.
- Ability to read instruments gauges, devices, etc. and complete proper paperwork
- Ability to read and interpret documents (instructions, handbooks, operating, maintenance and procedural manuals
- May fabricate and modify parts and equipment
- Work on equipment in the shop and field as needed
- Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order
- Keep shop and work area in a clean and orderly condition
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience in a mechanic and/or maintenance role, required minimum 2 years preferred.
- Technical knowledge of machinery and equipment used in the shop and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve related issues.
- Welding experience, preferred.
- Familiarity with geotechnical drilling, a plus
- Ability to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, minimizing risk of accidents and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Strong task management and operational effectiveness to oversee and manage the daily operations of the shop, ensuring that all tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Strong communication skills to effectively discuss job priorities, safety protocols, and shop policies with drilling team members.
- Strong work ethic, a dependable attitude, and the willingness to learn new skills.
- Must possess a current, valid drivers license void of violations; CDL Class A required.
- Must participate in an ongoing, random drug screen program.
- This position primarily works in a heavy manufacturing environment where the ability to work in a variety ofenvironmental conditions including exposure to heat and cold outdoor year-round, and around loud noises, dust and other environmental factors.
- Physical stamina and endurance to work for extended periods.
- Remain on feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time.
- Carry objects up to 50 lbs. of requires the employee to bend forward by bending at waist or by bending the legs and spine.
- Employee to wear personal protective equipment such as, safety glasses, face shield steel toe footwear, ear protection and hard hat.
- Regularly grasp, reach, push, pull, and pick up objects.
- Repeated motions with wrists, hands, fingers.
- Occasional local travel required via use of company vehicle
