Well, you are in luck! Myers + Chang is looking for a Lead Line cook to help run our busy kitchen. The Lead Line Cook reports to the Executive Chef and the Sous Chef. The objective of the Line Lead is to manage the prep cooks and production list, produce superior food, and work hand-in-hand with the chefs and FOH managers to manage the restaurant.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into leadership! We are looking for someone who not only checks their products/list in detail - we want someone who checks it twice!
Day-to-Day Performance Expectations:
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen and while working in conjunction with the other leads in the restaurant
- Prioritize tasks based on pars without guidance
- Maintain open lines of communication between you and all staff
- Master all positions in the kitchen
- Easily transition between stations as needed
- Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen (includes all areas BOH)
- Responsible for the closing walk-through and delegating any tasks still needed to be completed
- Ensuring the proper plating, presentation, temperature, accuracy, and quality of all dishes before they leave the kitchen (at the pass)
- Overseeing the adherence to the kitchen's strict allergen protocols
- Perform any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
- At least 2 years of experience as a line cook and is looking for growth opportunities
- Must possess a strong work ethic, be well-organized, and be able to contribute to a positive work environment.
- Must have a passion for Asian cuisine and/or be eager to learn new and unique dishes and ingredients
- Knowledgable and able to enforce all health, sanitary, and safety guidelines
- Ability to maintain grooming and uniform standards
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of all ingredients and systems in each station and be able to maintain the kitchen's strict allergen protocols
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, reach, and lift < 50 lbs.
- Must have scheduling availability to work in the evenings and weekends
- Fluency in English and some Spanish is preferred; classes are available upon request and based on availability
