Overview:
Willow Valley Communities is hiring a Lead Host/Hostess to welcome Residents and guests to the dining room. The Lead Host/Hostess will coordinate the seating of diners, monitor the activities of servers, be responsible for opening the dining venue for the meal period, and provide on-the-floor supervisory support to ensure smooth service. The Lead Host/Hostess will train new Host/Hostesses and will provide ongoing support to new Team Members according to the mentoring guidelines.

Wage:
- $17/hour
Responsibilities:
- Trains new Hosts/Hostesses following training checklists and Willow Valley Service Standards and provides ongoing support to new team members according to the Mentoring Guidelines.
- Organizes the activities and work assignments of the Front -of- the-House team and opens the dining room for meal service. Prepares and/or modifies work assignments and seating charts when call-offs occur and is able to fill in to cover shifts as needed.
- Monitors food and service to ensure Willow Valley Standards are met during and after meal periods and supports the dining services team members to ensure timely service is given to the Residents.
- Welcomes diners and provides prompt, courteous service for Residents and guests following Willow Valley standards.
- Works in conjunction with other team members to insure efficient and timely meal service.
- Operates computer software system proficiently.
- Monitors adherence to the dress code for Residents and guests.
- Escorts Residents and guests to their table following specified procedures.
- Assures availability of reset tables throughout meal period.
- Assists with motorized vehicle parking and personal walker parking and retrieval.
- May assist with preparation and delivery of sick boxes, room tray and take-out meals.
- Inspects dining rooms and serving stations for neatness and cleanliness. Requisitions table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations.
- Prints out End-of-Shift report from computer software system and prepares Daily Meal Served Report and other reports as assigned.
- Responsible for various administrative duties, including reviewing and posting Daily Specials and seating charts, printing menus/ and or tray tickets and tray tickets and Resident listings for meal time, making enlargements, assigning duties to servers, special projects and quality and process improvement efforts.
- Responsible for the set- up, monitoring, and clean-up of Special Functions, in addition to the normal daily operations.
- Follows Willow Valley’s HACCP plan and Food Safety policies and procedures while performing all duties and responsibilities.
- Assists with recording temperatures of food items prior to meal service and/or refrigeration and freezer units during shift.
- Completes tasks required by Daily Sanitation Checklist.
- Follows all safety guidelines while operating equipment; transporting food, supplies, and trash; and preparing and serving food.
- Attends Team meetings, in-services and training sessions regularly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Portrays a professional image in mannerisms and dress, according to Dining Services dress code.
Hours:
- 40 hrs/week
Schedule:
- 12:00pm-8:00pm Tuesday-Saturday with 1 closing shift per week of 1:00pm-9:00pm
- Some holidays required
