Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Estimator to take charge of our estimating department. In this role, you will oversee the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for commercial HVAC and Plumbing projects while managing a team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of estimators to deliver accurate and competitive project estimates.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates, budgets, and proposals for commercial HVAC and Plumbing projects.
• Review and approve estimates prepared by team members to ensure accuracy and alignment with company standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to evaluate project scope and requirements.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and maintain strong relationships.
• Develop and implement best practices, tools, and systems to improve the estimating process and team efficiency.
• Provide strategic input on bid strategies and value engineering initiatives to optimize project success.
• Track and analyze market trends to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Prepare and present bid proposals and lead post-bid discussions and negotiations.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of estimating, engineering, construction, or project management experience in related markets.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proven experience leading and managing a team of estimators.
• Experience working with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing professionals is required.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Technical background with expertise in building engineering and commercial construction principles.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
• Excellent communication, writing, and leadership abilities.
• Positive attitude with a solutions-driven mindset and a passion for mentorship.
