Description
Freeman provides full service design and production resources for corporate events, exhibit programs, expositions and conventions across North America. Annually, the company produces nearly 4,000 expositions and over 10,000 other events. Corporate headquarters are in Dallas, Texas, and the company has offices in 90 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
They don't have a lead that can coordinate with the operations engineers. That team sits off-shore and right now the Director is the one delegating their work, ensuring tickets are up to date, and providing answers to questions. Need a SME to come in. Need to ensure that their cloud environment is set up correctly and efficiently. Heavy focus on how they can make their environment better at Freeman. This individual would be part of that process

1) Azure Cloud L2/L3 (Scale: L1-L4) (teetering on architect; works closely with architect in previous role)
2) Azure Operations experience, infrastructure side of the house - how the cloud is set up, what can Freeman do better; design work
3) awareness of devops and deployment of code, but doesn't need to be an expert
4) must come from infrastructure background NOT applications. (Linux or Windows server OS is a MUST)
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (preferred), Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of experience in software development, cloud computing, and DevOps practices preferably within a large company or enterprise.
• Strong expertise in Azure DevOps, including pipelines, repositories, and artifacts. In-depth experience designing, implementing, upgrading and managing DevOpst environments on both cloud and on-premises hosting models.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics).
• Experienced with Agile framework for task management and delivery

General Responsibilities:
• Act as senior/lead engineer with the DevOps team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to automate and streamline processes.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Mentor and train other team members on DevOps best practices and tools.
• Demonstrate knowldege of multiple technology environments, and toolsets, and the associated infrastructure/operations in Azure as well as other public cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
• Document system configurations and build standards for all provisioning services, automation and environment lifecycle management.
• Research, evaluate and recommend the selection cloud related tools and emerging technologies for business use cases based on requirements and architecture standards
• Act as subject matter expert and provide technical advice when required to other support teams and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with business partners, teammates and vendors to design, implement and maintain applications, services, systems and technologies to satisfy company need
• Maintain a good working knowledge of the company's business to align cloud operations with company goals
• Plan and coordinate own work to meet commitments and quality expectations
• Communication with stakeholders as required: keeping them informed of project progress, impending changes, and agreed upon outages
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our DevOps processes.
