About the Job
Overview:
In collaboration with patients, families (as defined by the patient), and staff across all disciplines and
departments, the Dental Hygienist is responsible for performing dental prophylactic services in a dental clinic
- Delivers oral hygiene services including: Evaluation of teeth and gums. Recording presence of disease, abnormalities, and restorations
- Takes, develops, and mounts X‐rays and performs dental prophylaxis.
- Performs procedures to compile with infection control policies and prepares operatories for patient treatment.
- Accurately and completely reports and documents status, care rendered, response to care, provider orders,
contacts with patient and/or other healthcare providers. - Maintains patient follow up procedures.
- Instructs clients in proper practices of dental hygiene and procedures pertinent to provided treatments.
- Completes all direct and indirect care documentation in timely manner, ensuring patient records are current and
complete. - Attends daily patient care (unit) huddles and periodic informational (clinic) huddles, meetings, patient
conferences, or planning sessions. These may be related to quality assurance, patient care and other related
topics within the clinic. - Attends seminars and maintains all licensure and/or certification requirements for continuing education and best
practices. - Participates in quality strategies to evaluate compliance with evidence-based guidelines, standards and to
identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes. - Ensures all tasks provided and associated with patient care, patient administrative processes and related duties
comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards including The Joint Commission and CommUnityCare
Standard Operating Procedures and CommUnityCare Policies and Procedures. - Develops and maintains favorable internal relationships, partnerships with co-workers, including clinical
managers, clinical support staff, providers and business office staff. - Interacts respectfully and collaboratively with patients and their families, striving to develop favorable
relationships with families. - Collaborates with all members of the care team in providing patient-centered care.

- People Management/Department Management/Business Unit Management: Regional Lead Dental
Hygienist: - Works with other clinical and operational leaders to ensure an environment focused on high quality care.
- Performs regular check-ins with direct reports.
- Leads and motivates the dental providers under his/her supervision; uses effective performance management
processes. - Possesses high emotional intelligence and works to create a collaborative culture within the clinic.
- Supports, leads and models the vision, mission and values of CUC.
- Serves as the champion for initiatives that impact the operations of CUC and the quality of patient care.
- Performs objective annual evaluations of all direct reports with input from the leadership team.
- Graduation from a certified course in dental hygiene Required
- Previous dental hygiene experience Preferred
