About the Job
Our CNC Swiss Operator role will oversee the use of our computer numerical control Swiss Lathes or other machines as needed to produce high quality parts programmed by others in the department.
Job Duties
Essential Functions
• Setup and run production on CNC Swiss lathe turning centers.
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
• Communicate problems with Swiss lathes to the supervisor as they arise.
• Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening.
• Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
• Understand details and important instructions.
• Communicate with peers and management in the department.
• Follow established processes and quality and safety standards.
Job Specifications
• High school diploma or GED required, vocational school or apprenticeship experience preferred
• Experience running semi-automated or automated machinery is a plus
• Must have a positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Ability to read, interpret drawings/blueprints and follow routers
• Knowledge of metal properties and other material is a plus
• Mathematical skills and analytical abilities preferred
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, punctual and regular attendance
• Available to work weekends and overtime, as necessary
Physical Specifications
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Capable of standing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Visual abilities; close/distant, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
