Welcome home to WRT’s San Francisco Studio! We are looking for a landscape architect who is a leading designer and project manager with unique abilities to translate project goals into human, ecological, and socially responsive outcomes. This growth-oriented position requires you to lead projects through all phases of design and construction, with support from a skilled team of colleagues.
- Contribute to positive studio culture by mentoring other landscape team members
- Help define and lead our future work by conducting business development activities and leading proposals for new work throughout CA and the nation.
- Build on WRT's commitment to climate adaptation and social equity and expand and reinforce our practice areas with your expertise.
- Create impact in the communities we serve by championing our firm's environmental ethos of 'designing with nature' through our interdisciplinary work.
- Take the initiative to push our design and technical processes toward excellence while fostering a fun, collaborative work environment.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of demonstrated experience in relevant work
- Degree in Landscape Architecture
- Licensure (California preferred)
- Verbal and written communication (project interviews, design narratives, reports)
- Project management – has experience to guide projects and fiscal accountability
- Junior staff management (exposure to hiring, performance review) and active staff mentoring
- Design and construction documentation of relevant public and campus landscapes. Not resort or residential. Experience from conceptual phases through construction administration.
- Client engagement – builds trust, develops long term relationships
- Practice building – collaborates with colleagues to proactively position for work
- Shared values/culture – social equity, community capacity building, resource conservation, design excellence.
- Public speaking
- Public engagement experience
- Mastery of AutoCAD, MS, and Adobe software
Desired Skills:
- Spanish fluency/proficiency a plus
- Hand drawing for design development and communication
- Familiarity with climate adaptation approaches in coastal and inland environments
- Ecosystem understanding
Compensation and Benefits*
- The expected pay range for this position is $95K - $115K annually, dependent upon education, skills, experience
