Job Description: Landfill Engineer
Are you a skilled professional with expertise in landfill operations, gas emissions, and data analysis? Our client is seeking a Landfill Engineer to play a key role in optimizing landfill gas management and renewable natural gas (RNG) initiatives. This is a newly created position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable practices and innovative environmental solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Landfill Gas Management: Analyze and oversee the capture, collection, and processing of landfill gases for compliance and efficiency.
RNG Projects: Support Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) projects by interpreting data, identifying opportunities for optimization, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor, interpret, and report on data related to gas emissions, landfill operations, and environmental impact assessments.
Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, engineers, and contractors, to design and implement gas capture systems.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards while implementing best practices in landfill gas capture and management.
Project Support: Provide technical expertise in the design, maintenance, and optimization of landfill infrastructure and gas extraction systems.
Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in RNG and environmental engineering practices.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Environmental) or a related field.
Experience: Direct experience in landfill operations, gas emissions management, and data interpretation.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of the processes involved in landfill gas capture and conversion to RNG.
Skills: Proficient in data analysis, problem-solving, and project management. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Certifications: P.E. Certification is a plus but not required.
