About the Job
Our client is looking for an AP/CP Board certified general pathologist to direct the medical laboratory. Part of a seven -person team covering multiple hospitals in Fort Wayne, Indiana ; the second largest city in Indiana with excellent housing, schools, and quality of life.
The duties of this position will be active participation in hospital committees, overseeing quality, safety, and efficacy of the laboratory, and signing out of general surgical pathology, cytology, immediate evaluation of frozen sections and EUS FNAs. You will also assist with coverage of laboratory medical directorships at nearby rural hospitals. No autopsies, bone marrows, medical kidney, and no PAPs.

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- 3-5 years Laboratory Medical Director experience with a proven history of superior communication and team-building skills.
- AP/CP board certification in pathology.
- Completion of a surgical pathology fellowship or other subspecialty fellowship in pathology, Cytopathology fellowship preferred, but not required.
- Must be eligible for or currently possess a valid Indiana medical license.
- Ability to operate independently (perform frozen sections) as occasion requires.
- Professional collegiality.
- Experience in practice, > 5 years in practice preferred.
