Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney specializing in public sector labor relations to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a collaborative group of professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional results.
As a key member of our firm, you will handle a diverse and dynamic caseload involving arbitration, contract negotiations, labor disputes, and representation before various state regulatory agencies and courts. Key Responsibilities:
Advise and represent public sector clients in matters related to labor and employment law.
Lead and participate in arbitration hearings, investigations, contract negotiations, and fact-finding processes.
Provide counsel on a range of labor-related issues, including collective bargaining, labor disputes, and grievance processes.
Represent clients before the New York State Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL), and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Handle complex legal matters before the courts of New York State, including appellate courts.
Conduct training sessions and workshops on labor law issues for clients and their staff.
Draft legal documents, including memoranda, briefs, and contracts related to labor law.
Stay current with evolving labor law regulations, case law, and trends to provide accurate, up-to-date advice.
Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admission to the New York State Bar.
2-4 years of proven experience in labor and employment law, with a specific focus on public sector labor relations.
Demonstrated ability to manage arbitration, contract negotiations, investigations, and fact-finding processes.
Familiarity with proceedings before the New York State Public Employment Relations Board and the New York State Department of Labor.
Strong litigation and advocacy skills, including experience in appellate court settings.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
