Type: W2 Contract (12 months)
We are looking for a lab technician to help support our research on the quality of gameplay experience.

We are looking for a lab technician to help support our research on the quality of gameplay experience.
Overall Responsibilities:
This role will help the Playability Research Program with the following tasks:
- Maintaining the health of our lab network (able to accommodate 10 simultaneous playtesters)
- Maintaining an inventory of our lab equipment (on campus and remote)
- Working with our engineers and lead testers to set up and moderate in-lab and remote studies
- Working closely with our lead testers to maintain a process for tracking our research studies and organize our study schedule
- Troubleshooting problems with our networks, equipment, prototypes, and other aspects of our research process for different studies
- Setting up logistics for shipping equipment to/from our team of remote testers and our on-campus lab
- Setting up equipment in our on-campus lab
- Building customized gaming rigs and equipment for our on-campus lab
- Helping our testers set up their equipment for remote testing
- Helping to organize our research documentation
- Working with our engineers and lead testers to set up and moderate in-lab and remote studies
- Working closely with our lead testers to maintain a process for tracking our research studies and organize our study schedule
- Troubleshooting problems with our networks, equipment, prototypes, and other aspects of our research process for different studies
- IT skills for maintaining our lab network IT skills setting up TVs, product team equipment and basic sysadmin skills
- Experience working with command line coding interfaces
- Highly organized Familiar with GSuite tools (e.g., docs, sheets)
- Familiar with project tracking tools
- Have a good understanding of LAN and wireless network / routers
- Can troubleshoot simple (wired / wireless) network issues and assist our NetOps team to identify any network related issues
- Background in gaming
- Prior experience working in a research lab
