Position Summary:
A Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible and accountable for the delivery of nursing practice and
utilization of the nursing process related to patient care under the supervision of a register nurse. LPN
nursing practice follows the current Nursing Practice Act and Guidelines from the Department of Health,
and Board of Nursing for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Essential Duties:
The Medical Surgical/Telemetry Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for gathering data for
assessment of patients, assisting with the planning for patient care, interventions assigned, and
providing input for the evaluation process. The LPN is an essential part of the team providing care
to a variety of patients in various settings. Collaborates to promote high quality, cost efficient
health care.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Minimum: Graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Current Massachusetts LPN license; American Heart Association BLS certification. For Telemetry
and higher acuity units, ACLS (AHA) and EKG may also be required.
