American Medical Staffing (AMS) puts you first, and we are currently seeking an LPN to join our corrections medical team in State Farm, Virginia. This is a level 1 state prison that houses both female and male inmates.
Correctional LPN Job Details:- Pay Rate: $1,734 to $1,934 per week
- Schedule: 8 – 8
- Available Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week
- Start Date: Two weeks from offer
- Located In: State Farm, VA
- Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1 years of experience, preferably in a corrections or similar setting, have a valid LPN license and be willing to obtain VA and/ or compact licensure.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse in a correctional care setting, you’ll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Responsibilities include:
- Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision on RNs or physicians.
- Monitoring patients vitals and symptoms—administering medication and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by a physician and monitor for adverse reactions to medications
- Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate interventions as needed
- Documenting all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and timely
- Educating patients on self-care techniques and promoting health education within the correctional facility
