Job Title: Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2

Job Summary/Description:
The Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 develops, coordinates, implements, and provides interdisciplinary services addressing the integration of behavioral and biomedical sciences in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals with mental health or substance use concerns. This position involves independently providing behavioral healthcare services within the scope of practice and may include serving as a lead worker or liaison with other public or private support agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Worker & Treatment Planning: Act as a lead worker over lower-level behavioral healthcare providers or independently develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for clients.
- Care Coordination: Coordinate client admissions, assessments, evaluations, and treatment plans throughout the care cycle.
- Crisis Intervention & Complex Cases: Provide interventions for acute and complex clients, handling cases with numerous factors and issues, including crisis intervention.
- Program Development: Participate in the development, implementation, and direction of behavioral healthcare programs and treatment system objectives.
- Treatment Intervention Design: Design and modify treatment interventions, evaluate treatment systems, and ensure responsiveness to clients' progress and ability to change behaviors.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate and monitor the performance of lower-level behavioral healthcare providers in administering treatment plans and maintain necessary documentation to meet federal, state, and local agency requirements.
- Collaboration: Serve as an active member of treatment teams, participating in training sessions, department procedure meetings, and policy reviews.
- Agency Coordination: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other facilities, agencies, and support services to coordinate referrals and conduct follow-up services for clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensure:
- Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor’s Credentialing Board;
- Or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board;
- Or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board;
- Or Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board;
- Or Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a certificate of authority as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Nurse Practitioner with specialty certification in Mental Health or Psychiatry as issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Continuing Education: Must complete required continuing professional education for license renewal as per the Ohio Revised Code.
Unusual Working Conditions:
- May require non-traditional work schedules or arrangements.
- Exposure to clients who may exhibit violent behavior.
- Potential exposure to unusual noise, odors, or contagious diseases.
- Travel to community sites under contract with the Department of Mental Health may be required.
