Position: Commercial Account Executive
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Able to read and write in English
- College degree (or equivalent job experience) in insurance, communications or other related field preferred.
- Must possess a valid Property and Casualty License; insurance designations such as CIC, CPCU, ARM, or CRM strongly desired.
- Minimum 7 years in Commercial insurance.
- Must have previous experience handling large premium volume and complex accounts.
- Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Agency Management System software (AMS 360, EPIC).
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding consulting, sales and negotiating skills.
- Strong customer service and team skills; must interact effectively with clients, co-workers and management.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under strict time constraints.
- Proven ability to analyze and solve problems.
Job Functions:
- Identify service problems and program trends, and develop and deliver solutions to the customer within customer’s established time frame. Develop and implement service plans for major accounts.
- Responsible for meeting 95% retention goal on all assigned accounts. Customer service focus should be on understanding customer expectations and striving to exceed them.
- Provide risk management to clients, including contract review and analysis; suggest policy changes or updates as necessary.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with client Owner/executive contacts authorized to make decisions and with insurance company Brokers, Insurance Carriers and consultants.
- Attend and assist with presentations for new business with potential clients, and renewal meetings with existing clients.
- Establish and maintain a role model/mentoring relationship with Account Managers and Account Administrators in the Commercial Lines department.
- Perform as liaison between assigned clients, carriers, brokers, consultants and other representatives.
- Negotiate and deliver renewal pricing; responsible for achieving renewal goals on assigned accounts.
- Propose and sell additional coverages and services offered by the company.
- Resolve any account performance issues and develop meaningful action plans to improve performance
- Manage and coordinate audits.
- Maintain a current, active insurance license at all times. Complete Continuing Education classes as required to maintain license, or as requested by Management. Should maintain or be working toward at least one of the following insurance designations: CIC, CPCU, ARM, or CRM.
- Other duties as assigned.
