Job Summary:
The Restaurant Assistant Manager is a crucial part of our management team, ensuring the smooth and successful operation of our restaurant. Working closely with the General Manager, this role involves overseeing daily activities, delivering exceptional customer service, and upholding high standards of food quality and cleanliness. The Assistant Manager leads and motivates the team while managing various administrative tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations, including employee scheduling, inventory management, and financial reporting.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by training and coaching staff, resolving customer complaints, and maintaining a positive dining experience.
- Maintain high food quality standards and enforce health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Supervise and support restaurant staff, including servers, bartenders, hosts/hostesses, and kitchen staff, providing ongoing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation, monitor food presentation, and address any issues related to food quality or customer satisfaction.
- Handle cash transactions, manage financial processes, and maintain accurate records of sales, expenses, and inventory.
- Implement and enforce restaurant policies and procedures, including dress code, employee conduct, and operational guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and customers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Degree in Hospitality Management is a plus.
- Proven experience in supervisory or management roles within the restaurant industry.
- Knowledge of labor laws and regulations related to employee management and scheduling.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US.
- Valid food handler's certification, alcohol serving certification, and other relevant certifications required by local laws or regulations.
- Must be bilingual in Korean and English.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Korean and English.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding customer service skills, with the ability to handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
- Keen attention to detail for accuracy in financial reporting, inventory management, and food quality control.
- Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and holidays, and adapt to changing schedules and demands.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the restaurant industry.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Salary Range: $67,000 - $72,000
