Full-time Kitchen Manager Position at Leading Child Care Center
Our Children's Place of Canandaigua seeks a dedicated culinary professional to join our team as a Kitchen Manager. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape young palates and promote healthy eating habits while managing all aspects of our center's food service operations.
Position Overview
This full-time (35-40 hours/week) position, Monday through Friday, is based at our Canandaigua location and reports directly to the Center Director.
The Role
As Kitchen Manager, you'll orchestrate our center's entire food service operation, serving nutritious meals to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. This position combines culinary expertise with program management, requiring both kitchen skills and administrative abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Planning & Food Production The role involves creating and executing nutritious meals following CACFP guidelines, maintaining accurate food production records, coordinating with our Clifton Springs location for supply sharing, and communicating menu changes through our Procare app.
Inventory & Budget Management: You will be responsible for ordering and managing food supplies, maintaining organized storage systems, working within established budget constraints, and processing all related invoices and documentation.
Kitchen Operations The position requires maintaining immaculate kitchen standards, overseeing equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and monitoring classroom family-style dining practices.
Program Compliance:e You will maintain CACFP documentation, attend required training sessions, keep permits and regulatory documents updated, and monitor food safety standards throughout the facility.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a high school diploma and preferably one year of food service experience in childcare. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, along with computer proficiency for documentation and the physical ability to lift 40 pounds. Emergency evacuation capabilities are required.
