Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 per year

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kafka Engineer or Kafka Architect to join our team in Rosemont, IL, for a fully onsite role. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Kafka-based systems to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with other teams to integrate and optimize Kafka in various applications and ensure seamless data flow across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage Kafka-based systems and solutions.
- Architect, optimize, and scale Kafka clusters to meet the growing demands of the business.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and other teams to integrate Kafka with various applications.
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and security of Kafka clusters.
- Develop and maintain Kafka stream processing pipelines and data models.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Monitor Kafka metrics and logs to identify and address potential bottlenecks or issues.
- Provide Kafka-related technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Kafka Engineer or Kafka Architect, with hands-on expertise in Kafka ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, including brokers, producers, consumers, topics, and partitions.
- Experience with Kafka cluster setup, configuration, tuning, and management.
- Expertise in stream processing technologies (e.g., Kafka Streams, KSQL, etc.).
- Knowledge of data modeling and integration with databases and other systems.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools for Kafka (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and data pipelines.
- Certifications related to Kafka or cloud platforms.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
