Key Responsibilities of the Junior Project Accounting Analyst
- Project Accounting & Budget Management:
- Manage project budgets, ledgers, and accounts.
- Process and code invoices to align with project budgets.
- Prepare journal entries for land acquisitions, development costs, and accruals.
- Track and analyze project costs related to land acquisition, development, and capital expenditures.
- Perform reconciliations and variance analyses on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare schedules and reports to analyze and communicate financial activities, including lot and land development costs.
- Ensure accurate cost reporting, including capitalization and revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP.
- Compile financial reports and project financial statements for stakeholders, lenders, and investors.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Collaborate with development and finance teams to create and update project budgets.
- Monitor budget vs. actuals and provide real-time accounting of development spending.
- Deliver forecasts to support financial planning.
- Audit & Compliance:
- Prepare project-level financial information for internal and external audits.
- Assist with audit requests and maintain organized records.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
- Loan & Financing Management:
- Track and manage project loans, including interest calculations and payment schedules.
- Assist with financing documentation and maintain accurate records of costs and distributions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Junior Project Accounting Analyst
- Finance, Accounting or Economics degree
- Minimum 1 year of relevant accounting or real estate finance experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
