George Consulting is seeking a Junior IT Specialist to support NIPO at the Washington Navy Yard. This position will only be for a 10-month role.
Roles and Responsibilities:.
The Junior IT Specialist responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Perform duties in information technology management to include: issuing, troubleshooting, and monitoring command mobile devices, external hard drives, computer headsets, and phone headsets.
· Use judgment and initiative to determine the correct approach or action in non-routine situations; display ability to interpret and adapt guidelines in a frequently changing environment and maintain and update the Navy IPO "Process Desk Guides - (PDGs)" under their cognizance, which functions as an "operations manual".
· Assist Helpdesk Lead with IT helpdesk inquiries. Respond to and track helpdesk issues via Navy IPO SharePoint portal ticketing system. Tasks may include, but not limited to: toner replacements, cubicle and office setups, Teams/GVS/VTC/SVTC setups, Cisco desk phone setups, voicemail PIN resets, and software resolutions.
· Assist IT Helpdesk lead in maintaining master mobile device database and tracking Mobile User Agreements (MUA). Serve as liaison between Navy IPO personnel and DoN CIO Mobility Team; submitting ITD tickets to DoN CIO Mobility team via SECNAV SharePoint Portal for initial issuance of mobile devices, provide documentation for missing, lost, stolen, or damaged (MLSD) devices, and requesting any out-of-baseline features, such as international plans.
· Assist users with initial setup, Purebred setup, and mandated updates of mobile devices within the Flank Speed (Navy Office 365) environment. Obtain DISA Purebred Agent designation by fulfilling training and registration requirements. Acting as Tier-I support, perform basic troubleshooting to resolve mobile device issues; such as incorrect passcodes, passwords, e-mail not synching, etc., prior to escalating to DoN CIO ITD ticketing system.
· Assist users with Microsoft Teams (MS Teams), Global Video Services (GVS), VTC (Video Teleconference), and Secure Video Teleconference (SVTC) setups using the Navy IPO SharePoint VTC/SVTC tracking system.
· Assist users with desk phone setup within the Cisco Unity and Cisco Call Manager applications. Assist Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) with DMCC-S devices; including assignment and troubleshooting.
· Assist with disposal of retiring government assets and property through DLA Disposition Services (formerly known as DRMO). Obtain AMPS account to submit Electronic. Turn in Document (ETID) documentation and palletize property prior to turn-in. Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN AN ACTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.

- Experience: CompTIA A+ certification and one year’s experience in helpdesk or equivalent technical support position. Familiarization with Windows 10/11 operating systems and Apple/Android mobile devices

Job Description: George Consulting is seeking a HPC Application Support Engineer to support a classified project in Alexandria, VA. Roles and Responsibilities: The HPC Application Support Engineer will be responsible for the following: • Manage, deploy, and support applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) • Work with users to customize applications and configure software development, integration, and production environments to specification • Work with HPC vendors to identify hardware and software solutions to meet system requirements • Monitor internally developed applications for impact to system performance and resource utilization • Tune applications to optimize performance and reliability of services across the High-Performance Computing (HPC) ecosystem • Diagnose application problems quickly and effectively • Automate administration procedures for routine and complex tasks • Provide backup HPC system administration support • Coordinate with vendors to resolve software problems • Work with team to define and implement best practices • Able to work independently with limited direction and be self-motivated. • Able to work with other contractor teammates and customers daily. • Able to work closely with customers to ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner. • Attend and actively participate in team meetings. THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN AN ACTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or closely related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Linux/UNIX Systems Administration. • Experience supporting internally developed applications in C, C++, Java, and Python • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. • Ability to identify requirements and to define, plan, and implement requisite solutions • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize tasks, and complete assigned projects with minimal supervision • This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. • Certifications: Security+, RHCSA or RHCE Preferred Qualifications: • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team • 5 years of experience supporting HPC applications and development environments on RHEL • Experience troubleshooting application execution through resource managers such as PBS Pro and Slurm • Experience with utilities such as Git, Bitbucket, Confluence • An understanding of code review, compilers, and debugging tools including Intel Parallel Studio, GCC, GDB, TotalView • Experience supporting applications based on CUDA, OpenCL, OpenMPI, OpenMP, IntelMPI • Experience using tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, and SNMP to monitor systems, metrics, and create dashboards • Ability to develop and maintain programs and scripts that aid in the operation and automation of administrative tasks and workflows using Bash and Python
