Position Overview:
Support the BBI Ecommerce team in driving data-driven decision-making across key brands, including Ouidad, BioIonic, Goody, Curls, and Wet Brush. This role will contribute to optimizing ecommerce performance through data collection, analysis, and visualization, focusing on Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) channels, Amazon, and retail partner integrations. The Junior Ecommerce Data Analyst will assist in creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data workflows, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of metrics across platforms. They will analyze ecommerce performance trends, monitor data pipelines, and provide actionable insights to enhance business outcomes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically proficient, and eager to uncover opportunities through data-driven storytelling.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain recurring reports for ecommerce metrics and acquisition rates by brand and channel using tools like Looker/Looker Studio and PowerBI.
- Analyze and report on ecommerce performance trends, identifying key insights to explain data variances, such as campaign effectiveness, promotional impact, and seasonal trends.
- Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations to consolidate performance data from multiple retailers (e.g., ULTA, Sephora, Walmart, Amazon) and DTC channels.
- Monitor data pipelines to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data ingestion across platforms.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to explore the impact of promotions, purchase frequency trends, or customer acquisition strategies, providing actionable recommendations.
- Assist with data integration and troubleshooting, including identifying and resolving metric discrepancies and pipeline issues across tools like Klaviyo and Daasity.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to assess the performance of online marketing tactics such as SEO, SEM, and email campaigns, and their impact on ecommerce KPIs.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data anomalies to maintain consistent reporting and data quality.
- Document reporting processes, maintain a metric dictionary, and standardize workflows to improve data accessibility and accuracy.
- Support the analysis of A/B testing results and other experiments to optimize campaign performance and decision-making.
Essential Cross-Functional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to evaluate A/B test results, align on campaign performance goals, and provide data-driven insights into the effectiveness of promotional strategies such as discounts, free items, and subscription offers.
- Partner with CRM and acquisition teams to ensure data accuracy and deliver actionable reports on customer acquisition costs, engagement trends, and retention metrics.
- Work closely with brand teams to analyze performance across key retail partners like ULTA, Sephora, Walmart, and Amazon, integrating data for holistic reporting.
- Coordinate with the Ecommerce team to align data reporting with promotional calendars and flag anomalies or trends that may impact performance.
- Support cross-functional efforts to improve data workflows and architecture, ensuring seamless data flow across platforms and teams.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as Looker, Looker Studio, PowerBI, or Tableau.
- Experience with SQL or LookML for writing queries and managing data workflows.
- Familiarity with ecommerce platforms like Shopify and marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Klaviyo, and ad platforms like Meta and TikTok.
- Ability to identify data anomalies, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and maintain high data quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing data challenges.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to work cross-functionally with marketing, ecommerce, and brand teams.
- Familiarity with statistical analyses and the ability to draw insights from large datasets.
- Knowledge of predictive analytics or machine learning tools (e.g., Python, R) is a plus but not required.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in ecommerce analytics, data reporting, or a similar role.
- Experience in the beauty, CPG, or ecommerce industry is a plus.
