Place of Duty: Fort Shafter, HI, with rotational support in Hawaii and Alaska
Position Type: Full-time
Duties:
- Serve as the senior Fires SME on the contracted JPMRC support staff; lead the Fires Plans and JOC Operations
- Supervise, direct, and oversee the planning and execution of the JPMRC Fires team supporting exercise development, training management, and battlefield simulation
- Oversee the development of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) products to include exercise orders and supporting staff products
- Lead and manage the Fires Exercise planners and planning effort
- During execution, lead the Fire Support Cell that replicates higher headquarters, and assist Operations Group (OPSGRP) in maintaining situational awareness of fires functions
- Manage the contractor support to Fires Plans & Operations, and replication of the Fires Support Cell (FSC), the Joint Airspace Control Center (JACC), the Fires and USAF CAS Tactical Analysis Feedback Facility (TAFF), and Battlefield Effects (BFE)
- FSC: replicate a C-JTF Coordination Cell, Division Fire Support Coordinator, Division Fires Cell, Fire Support Element, and Naval assets
- ACC: replicate a theater level Air Operation Center, Corps level Air Support Operations Center and/or Joint Special Operations Air Component, as well as management functions for rotational and non-rotational USAF, Navy, Marine and foreign fixed/rotary wing units that provide air support
- Fires TAFF: perform data analysis of all fire support assets facilitated by continual tracking and monitoring of fire support operations/activities, recording of operations/activities in the JPMRC IS
- BFE: provide BFE replication and indirect fire marking 24 hours a day from start of the exercise through Change of Mission for each rotation
- Serve as the Leader Training Program (LTP) Fires BN Coach for 2 x LTP iterations annually, facilitating small group instruction emphasizing mission focused individual and collective training in the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP)
- Serve as the Horizon Strategies on-site lead for integration with the Prime contractor
Required Experience:
- 2+ years of experience at the tactical fires battalion command level
- experience as a Division or Corps FSCOORD/AFSCOORD
- 4+ years of experience on Brigade and Battalion level staff
- 2+ years of experience with live, virtual, and constructive exercises at the Brigade level and below, or an assignment at a CTC
- Experience with Army or Marine Corps and Joint Doctrine and Training Policy
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a Brigade
- 2+ years of experience with command at the Brigade level
- Experience as a LTP Brigade or Battalion Coach
- Experience as an Army or Marine Service School instructor/small group leader, or as a CTC Observer, Controller, and Trainer (OC/T)
- Experience working at a Joint, or Multinational Headquarters
- Master’s degree
- Graduate of a Senior Service College
Clearance: Requires Secret Security Clearance
Travel: Intermittent travel is required
Salary Type: Salaried, benefits-eligible
Compensation: Salary TBD based on experience and credentials, competitive for the market. Total compensation package will include salary, relocation stipend and retention bonus components.
